Map of the Song Dynasty

The Song Dynasty (960 AD – 1279 AD) is divided into two periods: the Northern Song Dynasty (960 AD – 1127 AD) and the Southern Song Dynasty (1127 AD – 1279 AD). After a time of transition and turbulence, the Song Dynasty was an era of reunification. It was considered as another "golden age" in Chinese history after the glorious Tang Dynasty. Due to the social stability, lots of achievements were made in respects of science, culture, and economy. Meanwhile, three empires appeared in the north, namely the Liao, Jin and Western Xia, all of which were established by ethnic minorities.

The Song Dynasty Map shows the boundaries of the Song Dynasty, provincial borders, provincial names, and major cities, as well as its neighboring regimes.
