Anshun's Location in China

Anshun

Anshun is a city in Guizhou Province, China and about 59 miles (95 km) from the provincial capital Guiyang City. It was an important strategic place in ancient times, thus it was called "the belly of Qian", "the throat of Dian", and "the lips and teeth of Shu (Sichuan) and Yue (Guangdong)". Anshun is a city rich in history as well as natural scenery.

Location and topography of Anshun

Anshun City, situated in the mid-western part of Guizhou Province, has an area of 9,264 sq. km. with a population of 2,523,000. Most of Anshun is hilly with the typical Karst topography, and this unique topography makes Anshun become a wonderland.

Climate in Anshun

Anshun City enjoys a humid subtropical monsoon climate with an annual average temperature of 57ºF (about 14ºC). The highest temperature in summer is 79ºF (about 26ºC) and the lowest in winter is 39ºF (about 4ºC). The hottest month is usually July and the coldest is January.

Transportation

By Air

Anshun Hugnagguoshu Airport, about 4 miles (6.4 km) from the city center, is equipped with advanced facilities and has regular flights to Beijing, Shenyang, Dalian, Qingdao, Guangzhou, Kunming, etc. Besides, Anshun is only 100 km away from the Guiyang Airport, where there are more regular flights to other major cities in China.

By Train

Anshun Railway Station, located at the end of the Nanhua Road, is connected with many major cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Kunming. There is also Huangguoshu Tourist Special Line runs between Anshun and Guiyang (the capital of Guizhou Province) every day.

By Bus

The main long-distance bus stations in Anshun are Anshun South Bus Station and Anshui West Bus Station. Tourists can take buses to Guiyang, Puding, Getuhe, Liuzhi Special District, etc. There are about 15 bus lines in Anshun City. You can catch a bus at any station to reach the main streets in the city.

Travel & Sightseeing in Anshun

Given its natural beauty and pleasant climate, Anshun has become a hot tourist city. The Huangguoshu Waterfall, one of the largest waterfalls of Asia, is a must-go attraction. Other main attractions include the Dragon Palace (Longgong Cave), the Hongfeng Lake, Tianxingqiao Scenic Area, etc. Besides, Anshun is an ideal place to explore ancient Han culture. Historical remains, such as the Confucious Temple, Tianlong Tunpu (Village Fortress), and the Yangming Cave are worthy of visiting.
