Anyang is a prefecture-level city in northernmost part of Henan Province. It borders Hebi and Xinxiang to the south, Puyang to the east, and Shanxi Province and Hebei Province to its west and north respectively. There are 4 districts, 1 county-level city (Linzhou City) and 4 counties under its administration.

Anyang has a continental monsoon climate with a yearly average temperature of about 57.2ºF (14ºC). Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit Anyang because summer here is very hot and winter chilly.

By Train

Anyang Railway Station is one of the important stations on Beijing-Guangzhou Railway. Located in the west end of Jiefang Road, it offers trains to Beijing, Zhengzhou, Xian, Wuhan, etc.

By Bus

107 National Highway, Beijing-Shenzhen Express Highway and Anyang-Daqing Highway runs through the city. Anyang Long-distance Bus Station in the east side of Anyang Railway Station offers buses to reach Beijing, Tianjin, Luoyang, Taiyuan, Jinan, etc. Through the expressway, the provincial capital city of Zhengzhou can be reached within 3 hours.

With a history of over 3,000 years, Anyang is one of the Eight Ancient Capitals of China and one of the principal birthplace of Chinese ancient culture. Therefore, it boasts many historical and cultural relics for travelers to explore. Additionally, natural scenery hold the same attraction. Among the top are Yin Ruins (or Shang Dynasty Ruins), Museum of Yin Ruins, Wenfeng Pagoda (or Tianning Temple), Gaoge Temple (a gallery displaying the work of local artists), Grand Taihang Mountain Canyon, Ruins of Youli City (said to be the place where King Wen of Zhou, founder of the Zhou Dynasty, was imprisoned for a number of years).
