Changchun
Changchun city, the capital of Jilin province is one of the vice-provincial cities. It has been granted the public-health city, the double-support model city, one of the top excellent traveling cities and advanced civilization-established city. Under Changchun city's administrative jurisdiction there are six districts and four counties (cities). It covers a total area of 20,571 square kilometers, boasting a population of 7.46 million, including counties and county-level cities.
Changchun has suffered a lot of hardships, especially in modern times. In 1931 Japan invaded and occupied entire northeast part of China, which can be considered the prelude of Chinese Anti-Japanese War. After a long time of struggle and resistance, finally Changchun broke off the ruthless rule, stepping into a bright and splendid future. Presently, it has been a charming city with several fine names: the Spring City of Northland, the Forest City, the Barn City, the City of Automobiles, City of Films, and the City of Tourism and destination.
Location and Topography of Changchun
Being the capital of Jilin province with clivia as its city flower, Changchun is the political, economic and cultural center. Located in the center of the Songliao Plain, the territory of China is described as a shape of rooster, and Changchun is one eye of this huge rooster on the important position.
Changchun area shows the variety of topographic features combining mountainous regions, mesas and plains, accounting for 9 per cent, 41 per cent and 50 per cent of total area. Besides, 39% of the ground has been clothed with the greengage, which makes Changchun one of the top destinations in this aspect.
Climate of Changchun
Changchun has semi-wet monsoon type climate, therefore, temperatures vary much throughout the year. The four seasons in Changchun are clearly defined with spring being dry and windy; summer, short and cool; autumn, sunny and warm during the day but cold at night; winter is cold, with a permanent covering of snow. The annual average temperature is about 4.8?, with the coldest month an average temperature of -17.2? and the hottest month an average temperature of 23?.

Railways in Changchun
Changchun Railway Station is located at the northernmost end of Renmin Street. Trains from here reach dozens of cities in China. In addition, you can have access to trains for Beijing, Shanghai and Xian which begin from Changchun Railway Station. There are also special travel trains passing through or begin here, such as Shenyang to Tumen, Changchun to Jilin, Changchun to Songyuan, etc.
Airways in Changchun
Changchun Longjia International Airport is located in between Changchun and Jilin City, newly built, capable of handling over 3.2 million passengers per year. Presently, there are flights to more than thirty domestic cities, such as Shanghai, Xian, Shenzhen, Nanjing, etc. and international flights to Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Sendai and Vladivostok.
Highways in Changchun
The development of Changchun Highways is relatively fast. There are three highways starting from Changchun and are to Siping, Jilin and Yingchengzi respectively, which are also joined by the national highways forming the convenient highways network.
