Fuzhou - Capital city of Fujian Province
As the capital and political, economic, cultural and transportation center of Fujian province, Fuzhou is situated by the East Sea and in the lower reaches of the Min River. Covering a total area of more than 12,153 square kilometers, it holds a population of 5.83 million. Fuzhou is also called "Rong Cheng (Banyan City)", because there are amounts of banyans growing everywhere providing shade for the entire city. Besides, the city is renowned for both quality and quantity of hot springs throughout China. Fuzhou has no such featured places of interests like Beijing, Shanghai, Xian or Guilin, but its tourism industry has been perfected day by day. And this coastal city is now attracting more and more attention from the tourists home and abroad.

Location and Topography of Fuzhou
Named after a mountain situated in the north called Mt. Fu, Fuzhou is located in the northeast coast of Fujian Province, on the north bank of the estuary of Fujian's largest river, the Min River, and bordering the East Sea.
