Huanglong, meaning "Yellow Dragon" in Chinese, lies in Sichuan Province, China. It was denominated a scenic spot of China in 1982. Therefore, people always mention it as Huanglong Scenic Area. Huanglong is praised as "A Fairyland on Earth" because of its splendid natural beauty. Meanwhile, visitors from home and abroad crowd in to see the miracle of nature.

Location and topography of Huanglong

Huanglong is located in the south of the Min Mountain in Songpan County of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Ethnic Group Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province and adjoins to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area. It has a Karst topography.

Climate in Huanglong

Influenced by a complex landform, climates in Huanglong vary a lot. The temperature is higher in the southeast, but lower in the northwest according to the change of the altitude. Huanglong enjoys a cool summer but cold winter. The annual average temperature is about 44.6ºF (7ºC).

Transportation in Huanglong is convenient and there are many bus routes for you to choose from, including as follows:

Travel & Sightseeing in Huanglong

Huanglong Scenic Area is covered by various peculiar sceneries because of the changing altitude. Huanglong Valley (which looks like a dragon resting on the snow capped mountains), Snow Treasure Peak, Danyun Gorge, Zhaga Waterfall, the Erdao Lake, etc. together make here a place of wonder. It would be surprised to find every lake, pond, spring and waterfall here was held by the travertine. It is definitely hard to describe all of the charm of Huanglong in words. The best way is to go and explore it on your own.
