Luoyang is a city in west of Henan Province, China. It is one of the cradles of Chinese civilization. it served as the capital city of thirteen different Chinese kingdoms including the prehistoric Xia Dynasty. Therefore, Luoyang possesses considerable historical and cultural heritage.
Location and topography of Luoyang
Luoyang lies in the middle reaches of the Yellow River and is surrounded by mountains and plains. It borders Zhengzhou (the provincial capital) to the east, Nanyang to the south, Sanmenxia to the west, and Jiyuan to the north.

Luoyang has a temperate continental monsoon climate, with an annual average temperature of about 59ºF (18.1ºC). The best season to visit Luoyang is autumn. The winters are cold and the summers hot and humid.

By Air
Luoyang Beijiao Airport is located about 6 miles (10 km) north of Luoyang City. Currently, there are connections from Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Urumqi, etc. Charter flights to Hong Kong and Okayama connect the city with more international cities.
By Train
Luoyang Railway Station and Luoyang East Railway Station are two main railway stations in Luoyang City. These stations operate trains to many other cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Zhengzhou, Yinchuan, Lanzhou and Urumqi.
By Bus
Luoyang has modern highways that connect nearby cities in Henan Province and extends to cities in other provinces, including Beijing, Tianjin, Xian, Jinan, Hefei, Wenzhou, Shenzhen, etc.
