Location and topography of Ningbo

Lying south of the Hangzhou Bay, Ningbo borders Shaoxing to the west and Taizhou to the south and it faces the East China Sea to the east. It covers an area of 9365 sq. km.

By Air

Lishen International Airport is situated to the southwest of Ningbo City and about 6.8 miles (11 km) from the downtown. Airlines to domestic cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Kunming and Shenzhen are available. It also operates flights to Hong Kong and Seoul.

By Train

There are four railway stations in Ningbo, but only the one in the south is for passenger transportation. Ningbo South Railway Station runs trains to and from Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xian, Chengdu, Hangzhou, etc.

By Bus

There are five long-distance bus stations in Ningbo City: Ningbo Passenger Transportation Center, Ningbo South Bus Station, Ningbo North Bus Station, Ningbo West Bus Station, Ningbo East Bus Station. There are routes to abundant cities in China, such as Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuxi, Hefei, Wuhan, Xian, Chongqing, Shanghai, Beijing, etc.

Other attractions consist of the Baoguo Temple (the oldest intact wooden structure in south of China), the Asoka Temple (one of the most crucial cultural remains in Ningbo City), and Tianfeng Pagoda (the tallest ancient structure in Ningbo City). Besides, the Siming Mountain and Songlan Mountain are perfect places in summer. In winter, the Nanxi Hot Spring is a wonderful place to relax.
