Ningbo

Ningbo City lies in the northeast of Zhejiang Province, China. Ningbo is one of China's oldest cities with more than 7000 years. It witnessed the vicissitude of many dynasties and inherited lots of valuable historical and cultural heritage.

Location and topography of Ningbo

Lying south of the Hangzhou Bay, Ningbo borders Shaoxing to the west and Taizhou to the south and it faces the East China Sea to the east. It covers an area of 9365 sq. km.

Ningbo City belongs to a subtropical monsoon climate with an annual average temperature of about 61.16ºF (16.2ºC). due to its mild climate, Ningbo is suitable for traveling in all seasons.

Transportation in Ningbo

By Air

Lishen International Airport is situated to the southwest of Ningbo City and about 6.8 miles (11 km) from the downtown. Airlines to domestic cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Kunming and Shenzhen are available. It also operates flights to Hong Kong and Seoul.

By Train

There are four railway stations in Ningbo, but only the one in the south is for passenger transportation. Ningbo South Railway Station runs trains to and from Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xian, Chengdu, Hangzhou, etc.

By Bus

There are five long-distance bus stations in Ningbo City: Ningbo Passenger Transportation Center, Ningbo South Bus Station, Ningbo North Bus Station, Ningbo West Bus Station, Ningbo East Bus Station. There are routes to abundant cities in China, such as Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuxi, Hefei, Wuhan, Xian, Chongqing, Shanghai, Beijing, etc.

By Water

The Ningbo Port is comprised of seaports and river ports. Nowadays, the passenger transportation in Ningbo Port mainly serves by the Ningbo Gang Ke Yuanzhan (Ningbo Port Passenger Transportation Station), Daxie Shui Shang Ke Yuan Zhan (Daxie Water Passenger Transportation Station), the Zhoushan Haixia Qiche Lundu Baifeng Station (Baifeng Station of Zhoushan Strait Ferry) and the Guoju Ningzhou Qi Du Zhan (Guoju Ningzhou Ferry Station)

Travel & Sightseeing in Ningbo

Ningbo, a city of great antiquity, attract visitors in any season and is always a must-go tourist destination for those interested in exploring natural beauty and considerable historical and cultural heritage. The most popular attraction in Ningbo is the famous Tianyi Pavilion. It is the oldest private library in existence in China. The library has a collection of 300,000 volumes, 80,000 of which are rare books. Other attractions consist of the Baoguo Temple (the oldest intact wooden structure in south of China), the Asoka Temple (one of the most crucial cultural remains in Ningbo City), and Tianfeng Pagoda (the tallest ancient structure in Ningbo City). Besides, the Siming Mountain and Songlan Mountain are perfect places in summer. In winter, the Nanxi Hot Spring is a wonderful place to relax.
