Zhenjiang is a city in Jiangsu Province, China. It administers six county-level divisions, including three districts (Dantu District, Jingkou District, and Runzhou District) and three county-level cities (Danyang City, Jurong City, and Yangzhong City). The beautiful city of Zhenjiang is encircled by green hills and pure waters and is embedded with enriched history and culture. Location and topography of Zhenjiang
Located in the southwestern part of Jiangsu Province and on the southern bank of the Yangtze River, Zhenjiang neighbors Nanjing (the provincial capital city) to the west, Changzhou to the east, and Yangzhou across the river to the north. The topography in Zhenjiang is high in west and south and low in east and north.
Climate in Zhenjiang
Located in subtropical area, Zhenjiang has a humid monsoon climate, which is characterized by clear distinctions among the four seasons and a rather short period of severe cold. The annual average temperature is 59.7ºF (15.4ºC). The the best seasons to visit Zhenjiang are spring and autumn when the climate is pleasant and flowers are in blossom.

By Train
The Beijing-Shanghai Railway goes through Zhengjiang from west to east. The Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway cuts across the area. Nearly every train running along the Shanghai-Nanjing rail line stops at the Zhenjiang Railway Station. There are also trains from Zhenjiang to reach Shanghai, Tianjin, and Wenzhou.
By Bus
The Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, National Highways 312 and 104 along the Yangtze River all pass through Zhenjiang. Meanwhile, the Yangtze River Bridge between Zhenjiang and Yangzhou connects Zhenjiang with the northern Jiangsu and other provinces in central China. Zhenjiang Passenger Transportation Center, Zhenjiang South Gate Express Bus Station, Zhongshan West Road Bus Station are three long-distance bus stations in Zhenjiang. There are regular service to cities such as Nanjing, Shanghai, Suzhou, and Wuxi, etc.
By Water
The Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal cross here, so visitors can get to Zhenjiang via ferry. Visitors can also go to other cities like Shanghai, Chongqing, and Hankou from the Zhenjiang Port Passenger Pier.
Travel & Sightseeing in Zhenjiang
Zhenjiang features abundant charming sceneries as well as historical spots and cultural relics. The Jinshan Temple (Gold Hill Temple) is the oldest and the most famous sight which also a symbol of Zhenjiang City. Lying on the slope of the Jin Hill, the Jinshan Temple is well-known at home because of a legend. The Jin Hill, the Jiao Hill and the Beigu Hill are three famous hill in Zhenjiang. The Ganlu Temple in the Jiao Hill and the Dinghui Temple in the Beigu Hill are two famous attractions, too. Furthermore, the Nanshan National Forest Park and the Baohua Mountain National Forest Park are examples of combination of picturesque scenery and cultural legacy. Zhenjiang Old Street in the center of Zhenjiang City is another must see. Here you can find ancient buildings dating back to the Yuan Dynasty. This antique street is still alive with the rhythms of its citizen's daily lives.
