Beijing District Map – Early, the four Districts of Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chongwen, and Xuanwu, located in the loop of the second ring road, are considered as the traditional old Beijing City, also the old inner Beijing city.
Later, the Beijing authority categorized the area within five ring roads as the inner city of present Beijing. Therefore, four districts formed by expansion of city from traditional Beijing city wall, which are Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai and Shijingshan.

Beijing Regional Map – As the capital city of China, Beijing is the second-largest city in China, after Shanghai, but it is China's political center. Beijing municipality comprises 18 administrative sub-divisions, county-level units governed directly by the municipality. Of these, 16 are districts and 2 are counties. Towns within Beijing Municipality but outside the urban area include: Huairou, Miyun, Liangxiang, Changping, Tongzhou, Beiyuan, etc.
