It is possible to think of Liaoning as three approximate geographical regions: the highlands in the west,, dominated by the Nulu’erhu Mountains,; plains in the middle, consisting of the watersheds of rivers; and hills in the east, dominated by the Mount Changbai and Mount Qianshan ranges with highest point Mount Huabozi. Most of its noted attractions lie in the mountains and waters, such as the Dalian coastal city, and the natural reserve centers.
