Macau Peninsula Map
Macau Peninsula, a culturally rich administrative area of China, is a great place for those with an interest in history and culture as it is teeming with interesting buildings such as Dutch churches and forts to wander around.
The Macau Peninsula offers plenty of pretty places to relax, and tourists can wander through the Luis de Camoes Garden and Grotto for seeing people practicing Tai Chi in the garden and relaxing in the pretty garden of Jardim de Lou Lim loc. Macau Peninsula is the oldest and most populous part of the former Portuguese territory of Macau, covering an area of 8.5 square kilometers, and geographically connected to Zhuhai and Hong Kong.
The peninsula, together with the city centre of Zhuhai, sits on an island separated from the continent by distributaries of the Pearl River. The Border Gate was built on the northern isthmus. At the south, the peninsula is connected to Taipa Island by three bridges. The longest axis extends from the Border Gate to the southwestern edge, Barra. There is a western Inner Harbor, and an eastern Outer Harbor. The 93-metre Guia Hill is the highest point on the peninsula, which is, on an average, 50 to 75 meters. Many coastal places are reclaimed from sea.
