Taiwan is located in the southeast of Asia, and overlooked from Fujian Province, it is neighbored by Japan in the north and Philippines in the south. Unsurprisingly, the largest island in China has become a hub for travel between places in Asia and is one of the tourist destinations with the most convenient transportation in the world. Besides for its abundant tourist resources, the economy of Taiwan emerged as a miracle and now it is the primary source of foreign capital for South-East Asian countries, thus allowing them to provide complete and high-quality tourist services and facilities. Location of Taiwan
Taiwan is located in East Asia off the coast of China, southwest of the main islands of Japan but directly west of the end of Japan's Ryukyu Islands, and north-northwest of the Philippines. It is bound to the east by the Pacific Ocean, to the south by the South China Sea and the Luzon Strait, to the west by the Taiwan Strait and to the north by the East China Sea.
The shape of the main island of Taiwan is similar to a sweet potato seen in a south-to-north direction, and therefore, Taiwanese, especially the Min-nan division, often call themselves "children of the Sweet Potato" There are also other interpretations of the island shape, one of which is a whale in the ocean (the Pacific Ocean) if viewed in a west-to-east direction, which is a common orientation in ancient maps, plotted either by Western explorers or the Great Qing.
Climate of Taiwan
Taiwan's climate is marine tropical. The Northern part of the island has a rainy season that lasts from January to late March during the southwest monsoon, and also experiences meiyu in May. The entire island succumbs to hot humid weather from June until September, while October to December are arguably the most pleasant times of year.

There are approximately 18 civilian airports in Taiwan, two of which are international airports. The other 16 are domestic airports, offering flights throughout Taiwan. Serving about 97 international air routes, it is convenient for passengers reach America, Japan, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Hong Kong from Taiwan.

Located in the subtropical ocean, Taiwan offers tourists comfortable weather and has no winter all the year round. With the pleasant climate, Taiwan can sustain vast biology resources. It is worth to visit Taiwan for its natural sights, such as the high and steep mountains and the dense atmosphere of seashore holidays. The island has another Portuguese name, Formosa, which means 'beautiful island'. In addition, Taiwan has many wonderful man-made tourist recourses, such as the famed Matsu Temple and Taipei National Palace Museum.
