Do you have the plan to visit China this year? Here we are about to provide you with a very useful guide to where you should go. Websites have recently started publishing lists of the top ten scenic spots in China. Their nominations haven't surprised us at all because all of the places they've listed have been popular for at least the last 3 to 5 years.
Lijiang is located in southwest Yunnan Province. It's easy to get there because there are direct flights. And there are some things you'll not miss if you go there, like climbing Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, hiking Tiger Leaping Gorge and visiting Lugu Lake. The old town also has its own special culture, the Dong Ba culture of the Naxi people. Dong Ba characters are thought to be the only living language based on pictographs.
As you stroll on the stone walkways between the ancient wooden houses, you can easily see the beautiful Jade Dragon Snow Mountain standing quietly in the distance. There are some people who went there with nothing to do, but ended up staying a week or even a few months. Every day they just walk around and have some tea or beers under the sunshine and see people around. The blend of history and modern convenience in this very old town is really impressive me. It has a bar street and you can even find ATMs, or automated-teller machines. And everyone in the city, local or tourist, automatically slows down when they enter Lijiang. They let their hair down and dance and sing with strangers. It's the kind of place where you can completely relax.
Sanya is a real tropical paradise with endless sun, fun and seafood! Located on the southernmost point of Hainan Island, Sanya looks out on the South China Sea. Clear blue waters, white sand beaches, lush green mountains and palm trees are just about everywhere. It's considered to be the only truly tropical city in China. And that's why Sanya is the most popular destination for the Spring Festival holiday. People in Beijing still wear thick coats but in Sanya now you can enjoy the sea with short pants and sandals. And it is also popular with lovers and young couples on their honeymoons.

There is an old saying in China that reflects its status among all the other mountains in China. It can be roughly interpreted as "No mountains are worth seeing after a trip to the Five Sacred Mountains, and none of the Sacred Mountains are worth seeing after a trip to Huangshan." The Five Sacred Mountains are also very beautiful and famous. Well, the Yellow Mountain in east China is famous for its uniquely-shaped pines, fantastic rock peaks, sea of clouds and hot springs. And the changing scenery is its most outstanding feature. Mystical clouds drift in and out, changing the view by the minute as the mist ebbs and flows. The beauty of Huangshan also varies with the seasons. It's the only mountain on our top ten list and its designated as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site. Like the Yangtze River, the Great Wall and the Yellow River, Huangshan has become a symbol of China.
Jiuzhaigou Valley lies on the transitional marginal belt of the northeast angle of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to Sichuan Basin, southwest China. Jiuzhaigou Valley is another magical Chinese landscape. It's got green lakes, multi-layered waterfalls, forests and snow-mountains with Tibetan culture and customs. It's also listed in World Natural Heritage. The green and golden trees, lofty mountains and clear and colorful waters give it a unique beauty. The waters are considered the soul of the beauty. The most beautiful season in Jiuzhaigou should be autumn, around August and September. At that time Jiuzhai is really a colorful fairyland.
Illustrating the 20 Renminbi (Chinese currency) note, the craggy little limestone karsts that cover the landscape of Guilin are extrordinary. If you visit Guilin, the local people may proudly tell you the mountains and water of Guilin are the finest under the heaven. Guilin is also in the south of China in Guangxi Province. It seems most of our famous popular scenic spots are in the south of our country. That's because of the climate. In the south they have more rainfall and higher temperatures, so they have more green trees and water.
Gulangyu Island is located just southwest of Xiamen City. Visitors can reach it by steamship from Xiamen City in about 5 minutes. Gulangyu Island is renowned for its delicate natural beauty, its ancient relics, and its varied architecture. The Great Wall winds its way across China covering over 4,000 miles (6,700km). While the latest construction occurred after 1368 during the Ming Dynasty, construction of the Great Wall began over 2,000 years ago. In fact, the Great Wall is actually made up of a number of interconnecting walls spanning China that different dynasties and warlords constructed over the years.

Potala Palace, the grandeur landmark of Lhasa city, is absolutely a must see for any Tibet tour. Since the Qinghai-Tibet Railway has opened for business, train travel to Tibet is possible now! It is getting easier and cheaper for tourists to explore this mysterious land. Tibet has always seemed like a mysterious place for me and I think for many foreigners too. Many hope they can go there one day and see the great Palace through their own eyes, not just a photo or video. Do it. It's worth it.
"In heaven, there is paradise; on earth, it's Suzhou and Hangzhou". This popular saying captures very well the charm of Hangzhou. West Lake, a famous fresh water lake located in the historic center of Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province of eastern China, is praised as land of intoxicating beauty.
