Maps of Nanjing Subway – The Nanjing metro is a metro system serving the city of Nanjing, and the construction of subway lines began in 2000 and it was inaugurated on 2005 with 21.72 km long and 16 stations.

Nanjing Metro Line 1 is 21.72 km long, and runs from Maigaoqiao station in the north via Andemen station to Olympic Stadium Centre in the southwest. 14.33 km of the metro track runs underground, while 7.39 km of the track, including the stations Maigaoqiao, Hongshan Zoo, Zhonghuamen, Andemen and Xiaohang, run above ground.

Nanjing Subway

A future 24.47 km Long Branch line with 15 stations is planned to run from Andemen station to Pharmacy University, starting its operation in May 2010.

The new metro line is an alternative for travelers who do not want to take the crowded buses. The tourists could still see the scenic spots in this area. The Route and Attractions are such as the folloeing: Hongshan Zoo ---> Nanjing Railway Station ---> Xin Mofan Malu ---> Xuanwu Men (Xuanwu Gate) ---> Gulou (Drum Tower) ---> Zhujiang Lu ---> Xinjiekou (downtown area) ---> Zhangfuyuan ---> Sanshanjie ---> Zhonghua Gate -----> Xiaohang -----> Aoti Zhongxin (the southern ending).
