Airways in Taipei
Taoyuan International Airport is located 40 kilometers south of the city centre as the largest airport with convenient facilities and services. There are airlines which can take you to all the major cities in Mainland and Taiwan Province such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Gaoxiong, Tainan and much more. Besides, it provides the services with a bank, hotel reservations, car hire, shops, beauty salon, massage and basic restaurants and more.
Railways in Taipei
The New Taiwan High Speed Rail Link runs north-south from Taipei to Kaoshiung. The link has made it possible to travel in comfort from one end of Taiwan to the other in less than three hours at speeds of up to 300kph.
Waterways in Taipei
The ports of Taichung, Hualien and Suao are only visited by cargo ships. Weekly international passenger ferries run between the Taiwanese Keelung and Kaohsiung ports and Naha, the capital of the southern Japanese-island of Okinawa. The overnight ferry, which takes from 16 to 20 hours to reach Keelung, departs from Okinawa on Thursday or Friday.
Highways in Taipei
Since Taian is an island, you cannot go there by buses or cars. But there are two highways running north to south connecting all the cities and counties within Taiwan with Taipei City.
MRT in Taipei
The Taipei Subway, also known as Taipei Metro or Taipei MRT (Taipei Rapid Transit System), is a rapid transit system serving Taipei city. The Taipei MRT system consists of 80 stations and 90.5 kilometers of revenue track with 9 subway lines. The system carried an average of over 1.4 million passengers per day according to the latest census.
