Detailed Map of the Temple of Heaven

 

The map below clearly shows the layout of the Temple of Heaven, the most important imperial sacrificial altar in Beijing in the Ming and Qing dynasties. From this map we can see that the Temple of Heaven comprises three main groups of constructions. Now it has become a very popular park for exercising because of its thousands of ancient pine and cypress trees.
