Gulangyu, a tourist island off the coast of Xiamen, covers about 1 kilometers area. It is renowned for its gorgeous natural beauty, ancient relics, and various architectures. It is listed among the National Scenic Spots and also ranks at the top of the list of top 10 tourist areas in Fujian Province.

Xiamen Gulangyu Island

The tourist attractions in Gulangyu Island are:

Sunlight Rock, located in the south-central part of the island, is the highest point here. Zhengchenggong Memorial Hall stands at the foot of Sunlight Rock, built in honor of the hero's feats which include expelling the Dutch colonists and re-occupying Taiwan.

Shuzhuang Garden

Shuzhuang Garden was used to be a private villa, and became open to the public in 1955. It is a standard Chinese style Garden complex. It is one of the must-see tourist attractions in Gulangyu Island.

Gulangyu Island Transportation:

Tourists can reach the area by steamships from Xiamen City in about 5 minutes. You can take the Bus Routes of No. 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 25 to the Ferry Terminal, and then transfer to ferryboat for Gulangyu Island.
