Situated in the central part of Gansu Province, on the east end of Hexi Corridor of the Silk Road, Wuwei City has a very long history since there were people living here 5,000 years ago, considered as one of the most famous historical and cultural cities of China. The notable and well-known tourist attractions include the Leitai Han Tombs and Confucian Temples in the downtown area, the largest desert park of China, located 22 kilometers east of the city, a green pearl inland on the front edge of the Tengger Desert, and the Tianzhu Tibetan Autononous County boasting the Tianzhu Small Three Gorges and Shimengou Grassland Park.
