Shanghai is the hub of China's railway network, with daily trains from and to main tourist cities, such as Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Kunming, Guangzhou, etc. It is very easy for visitor to take a train from other places to Shanghai or vice verse. Shanghai Railway Station is the main station of Shanghai, near Suzhou Creek, and the tickets are sold there. Also, some trains depart from the Shanghai West Railway Station and Shanghai South Railway Station, but there is no worry about that because the trains there always pass through Shanghai Railway Station.

Shanghai Trains

1. Shanghai – Beijing Bullet Trains with a D before the train numbers taking only 10 hours; Direct fast trains with a Z before the train number taking about 12 hours; Fast trains with a T before the train numbers taking about 13.5 hours; Common trains with a K before the train number taking nearly 19 hours.

2. Trains in Shanghai to the adjacent tourist destinations: Shanghai to Suzhou, taking about 40-90 minutes; Shanghai to Hangzhou, taking between 1.5 hours and 4 hours.

3. During the Golden Vacations, there are always the tourist trains from Shanghai to Hefei and Mt. Huangshan in Anhui Province, Zhangjiajie in Hunan Province, and Wuyishan in Fujian Province.
