Sichuan, bordered by the Tibetan Plateau in the west and by the Three Gorges and the Yangtze River in the east, is one of the largest and most inaccessible provinces in southwest China. The province is known as the "Land of Abundance" and has three scenic areas on the World Cultural and Natural Heritage List: Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, Huang Long Valley, and Mount Emeishan including Leshan Giant Buddha. Besides, Qingcheng Mount, Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, etc are also impressive. Sichuan Cuisine is world-known with typical menu items – Hotpot, Kung Pao Chicken, Twice Cooked Pork and Mapo Dofu. Sichuan has more than 15 ethnic minorities living here, with their own charm and folk customs.
