Huangya means "yellow cliff ", and the pass takes this name from the yellowish hills and rocks nearby. It is praised as the small China Great Wall, and also chosen as a patriotic education and national defense education base of Tianjin. Besides, from 1999, a special activity has been held there – International Field Marathon. With various forms of water towers presented along the walls, and the largest tower of the Great Wall "Phoenix Tower " and the most unique "Baguaguan Castle ", Huangyaguan Great Wall is like a library of the Great Wall. This scenic area features as strong, adventures, beautiful and ancient.
