With strong Buddhist connections and boasting a number of visually-impressive historical temples, Ningbo attracts more and more tourists home and abroad, including Baoguo Temple, Tianfeng Pagoda, Tianyi Pavilion and Yandang Mountain. Although Ningbo is striving towards modernization, the local traditional handicrafts remain undiminished including hand-plaited bamboo vases, screens and animal figures, ancient Gu Mu Xiangqian, bamboo root carving, etc.
